Speerstra Gallery Switzerland presents BlancBec "Talkie Walkie"

14 May - 15 June 2013

For his first solo at the Speerstra Gallery, Blancbec reclaims his letters by illustrating them throughout the radio alphabet.

"Echo Echo Charlie Kilo Hotel Alpha Uniform Tango, I repeat, Echo Echo Charlie Kilo Hotel Alpha Uniform Tango just got intercepted for vandalism on train."
It was an afternoon in 1998, graffiti writer VEKS understands that the police agent just communicated his identity through Talkie-Walkie to announce the writers arrest. A heavy fine, suspended prison and community work stopped his career writing on Belgian trains. However, his thirst to create was always present. Referrals to new approaches was then necessary. In his studio the artist creates a new universe, his letters turn into an animal painted on paper that he glues on the walls of his city and answers now to the name Blanbec.
