This first monograph devoted to Stéphane Trois Carrés (born Stéphane Gauillard in 1963) reveals the singular work of this painter and video artist. Co-founder in the 80's of the Frères Ripoulin, a punk-minded collective adept at "live painting", Trois Carrés subsequently embarked on a solo career in highly personal painting, drawing his forms from the world of hard sciences (mathematical theorems, laws of physics, etc.) while subjecting them to the filter of his artistic sensibility.
