Thanks to mixtures of which only she has the secret, affixed in several layers on the canvas, Annina Roescheisen presents us with strange yet delicately harmonious compositions, where we observe almost whimsical structures, made up of subtle and hidden details, cuts, rough or softer surfaces, and surprisingly brightly coloured layers that plunge us into an absorbent depth.
After having shown her first solo exhibition of works on paper in Paris, the Speerstra Gallery welcomes the German artist Annina Roescheisen to Switzerland, to exhibit a series of works on canvas.
Entitled "Unsung Heroes", the exhibition brings together the fundamentals of her practice: abstract paint strokes carried by her feelings and emotions. To such an extent that the artist defines her paintings as figurative even though they may seem abstract to the spectators.
